Numora vs Settle Up

Checked on 30 October 2026

Settle Up and Numora both work for shared households, and the biggest difference is the paywall. Settle Up keeps recurring expenses, custom categories, receipt photos and stats behind Premium. Numora includes all of them for free, and adds natural-language entry and an AI assistant on top.

Where Numora pulls ahead

  • Nothing you need is locked away. Once a household settles into a routine, the recurring bills, categories, receipt photos and stats in the table are all part of the free app. One caveat on recurring is that nothing is added automatically. When one is due you mark it paid or skip it, and a reminders sheet lists what's due today, soon or overdue.
  • Add expenses in natural language. Type an expense into WhatsApp or Telegram the way you'd say it and it's logged, without opening the app. Settle Up doesn't have this.
  • Noo knows your numbers. Ask Noo where most of your spending goes or whether you can afford a weekend away, and it answers with a number, a chart or a list. Settle Up has no AI assistant.
  • Clean, and a nudge to log. Numora's tagline is "Track it. Split it. One clean expense app." Your own spending, your groups and your recurring bills sit in one place, and a daily reminder, 8:30 pm by default, only goes off on days you haven't logged anything.

Where Settle Up is ahead

Currencies. It converts with live exchange rates and doesn't charge for it, so today it's the better fit if you split costs across borders. Numora's multiple currencies are coming soon, but not here yet. Settle Up has Excel export too, though that one is Premium.

And if a single group needs more than the free version gives you, Settle Up sells Premium per group rather than for your whole account, from $5.99 for a week up to $149.99 for a lifetime on the US listing. That suits one long trip.

Which one?

Choose Settle Up if currencies matter most and you're fine paying for Premium when you need it. Choose Numora if you all share one currency and want recurring bills, categories, receipt photos and stats without paying for them, plus natural-language entry and an AI assistant that Settle Up doesn't have.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add an expense in natural language?

Link your Numora account to WhatsApp or Telegram first. After that, type the expense the way you'd say it, like "Coffee 4" or "Dinner 1200 in Goa Trip", and Numora adds it and files it in the right category.

What is Noo, and who can use it?

Noo is Numora's AI assistant. It reads your expenses and answers with a number, a chart or a list. It is optional and only runs after you agree to it. It is for people 18 and over, it isn't available in every country, and it has a daily question limit.

Is Settle Up free?

The download is, yes. Premium takes out the ads and unlocks the features marked Premium in the table.

Other apps change their prices and limits often, so check their pages before you decide.
