Numora vs Splitwise
Checked on 30 October 2026
Both apps split a bill and tell you who owes whom. After that they go different ways. Splitwise keeps receipt scanning, currency conversion and charts for Pro subscribers. Numora is free and goes further on the everyday side. You can add expenses in natural language, ask an AI assistant about your money and see personal, group and recurring spending in one place.

Where Numora pulls ahead
- Adding an expense takes one message. Type it into WhatsApp or Telegram the way you'd say it and Numora adds it, no app to open. Splitwise doesn't offer this, and the WhatsApp and Telegram bots that exist for it are third-party projects.
- Noo answers questions about your money. Ask where most of your spending goes or whether you can afford a weekend away, and Noo replies with a number, a chart or a list. Splitwise has no AI assistant.
- One clean screen for everything. Numora's tagline is "Track it. Split it. One clean expense app." Home shows the month's total, what's left of your budget and your latest expenses, with tabs for All, Categories, Recurring and Due. Your own spending, your groups and your recurring bills live in one place.
- It reminds you to log. The daily reminder, 8:30 pm by default, only goes off if you haven't logged anything that day, so the small stuff doesn't slip through.
- Nobody has to chase. Whoever is owed can tap Notify to send a push reminder, which saves an awkward message.
Where Splitwise still has the edge
If you split costs across currencies, or you like photographing a receipt and having the items pulled out for you, Splitwise Pro does that. Numora doesn't convert currencies yet (multiple currencies are coming soon), and its receipt tools are photos and itemised lines you type in yourself. Splitwise's Pro page also lists charts, expense search and a card-transaction import that's US-only for now.
The catch is the free tier. "Unlimited expenses" is on the Pro list, which implies a daily cap on the free app, though the page doesn't give the number.
Which should you pick?
Pick Splitwise Pro if you split across currencies all the time and want receipts scanned for you. For everyday splitting with a flat, a partner or friends, Numora gives you more without a subscription, with natural-language entry, an AI assistant, a budget and a habit-building reminder. And with multiple currencies on the way, the gap that matters most to travellers is the one being worked on.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add an expense in natural language?
Link your Numora account to WhatsApp or Telegram first. After that, type the expense the way you'd say it, like "Coffee 4" or "Dinner 1200 in Goa Trip", and Numora adds it and files it in the right category.
What is Noo, and who can use it?
Noo is Numora's AI assistant. It reads your expenses and answers with a number, a chart or a list. It is optional and only runs after you agree to it. It is for people 18 and over, it isn't available in every country, and it has a daily question limit.
Does Numora move money between people?
No. Tapping Settle records that a debt has been paid. The person who owes you still pays you outside the app.
Can I use Numora just for my own spending?
Yes. Sign in with Google or Apple and you can track your own spending without joining a group.
Other apps change their prices and limits often, so check their pages before you decide.
