Numora vs Tricount

Where Numora wins
- It's built for the whole month. Rent, bills and subscriptions repeat on a schedule you set, and the app reminds you when each is due. There's a monthly budget showing what's left, and a group's Members tab shows each member's total split.
- Add expenses in natural language. Type an expense into WhatsApp or Telegram the way you'd say it and Numora adds it, without opening the app. Tricount doesn't have this.
- Noo, an AI assistant. Ask Noo where your money goes or how you're doing on your budget and get a number, a chart or a list. Tricount has no AI assistant.
- Clean, and unified. Numora's tagline is "Track it. Split it. One clean expense app." Your own spending, your groups and your recurring bills share one home screen, and a daily reminder, 8:30 pm by default, only fires on days you haven't logged anything.
Where Tricount wins
Its site calls it free with no ads and no limits, and lists offline use and currency conversion too. For a holiday with friends who spend in different currencies, that's hard to beat, and it can import Splitwise groups, so switching is easy. Numora doesn't convert currencies yet, and a group uses the currency its creator picked. Multiple currencies are coming soon, but if your group spans countries today, that alone may settle it.
The optional bunq Card is worth knowing about. It comes from a bank, with its own fees and terms, so read those before you rely on it.
The short answer
Tricount for a one-off trip across currencies. Numora for everything else, whether that is a flat, a couple or any standing group that shares costs month after month, plus your own spending, natural-language entry and Noo.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add an expense in natural language?
Link your Numora account to WhatsApp or Telegram first. After that, type the expense the way you'd say it, like "Coffee 4" or "Dinner 1200 in Goa Trip", and Numora adds it and files it in the right category.
What is Noo, and who can use it?
Noo is Numora's AI assistant. It reads your expenses and answers with a number, a chart or a list. It is optional and only runs after you agree to it. It is for people 18 and over, it isn't available in every country, and it has a daily question limit.
Is Tricount really free?
Its site says "Free. No ads. No limits." and shows no paid plan. The bunq Card it promotes is a separate, optional product.
Can I track my own spending in Numora without a group?
Yes. Once you've signed in, personal tracking works on its own, with a monthly budget and a stats view.
Other apps change their prices and limits often, so check their pages before you decide.
